The Aquael Mini UV LED sterilizer has the form of a short sleeve that is placed over the filter outlet nozzle. Inside the sterilizer there are four energy-saving LEDs that emit UV light. The Aquael Mini UV sterilizer is easy to install and requires no special maintenance. It has an independent power source and can be turned on and off at any time. The dimensions of the sterilizer mean that it does not blemish the inside of the tank and can be used even in very small aquariums. The Aquael Mini UV LED sterilizer is compatible with the lines of Aquael internal filters: Fan, Unifilter, Turbo Filter, Pat Mini.

My previous UV was 6 watts, its pretty much overkill for a small 5 gallon tank and i only set it on 8hrs per day. The water was crystal clear for several months before purchasing the Aquael mini UV. After I swapped the 2, the tank was clear for about a week before turning green. This UV either is too weak for a 5 gallon tank or it just doesn't work. I saw somewhere that a 5 watts UV is good for up to 100 gallons, this 1 watt UV should be fine for 5 gallons right? Anyways, it was set for 24hrs/day and doesn't really does anything to clear out the green water.
